My fiancé knows me all too well. I came home on my birthday to flowers and a generous flight credit for Delta Air Lines that was neatly propped up on my nightstand. I suppose I should add this to my list of “5 Ways I Knew He Could Handle Marrying a Girl Who Travels” – after all, contributing to my travel addiction seems like a pretty worthy attribute to include.

I vote for Chicago! It’s relatively inexpensive to get to, so I bet your flight credit will cover it 🙂 There’s so much to do there, no matter what time of year, and it’s easy to fall in love with great hotels, awesome restaurants, and fun tours! Have fun deciding!!!
I lovvvvve Chi-town! Even though I hate cold weather, Chicago in wintertime is actually kinda magical to me. The diversity there is amazing and you’re right – so much stuff to do there no matter what time of year! Have you ever been to the Taste of Chicago?
Try out the Ausangate trek in the Rainbow Mountains of Peru! It’s in close proximity to Cusco and a “road less travelled” route in comparison to Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail, etc. It’s the highest trek in Peru and offers a 6-Day trek or an option to ride a horse for parts of the trail. I’ve never been but have heard great things about it and the pictures are absolutely breathtaking. It’s definitely one of the top destinations on my bucket list! Hope you can make it there someday 🙂
Oh wow! I’m going to Peru in 2 weeks and I’ve never even heard of Rainbow Mountains! This looks amazing. I wish I had known about this place before I booked all my stuff in Cusco. Theses colors are simply gorgeous.
I think you should go to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The next Olympic Games will be there and Rio has a lots of wonderful touristic points.
I love your blog too.
Renan, thanks so much for your suggestion–it’s a great one! I’ve always wanted to go to Brazil, but I’ve never made it out there. I heard Carnival was incredible there too. Glad you like the blog!!
The carnival is a party out of this world. It’s amazing!
Maui, heart of Hawaii. I was there last summer. It was incredible, the volcano, all the beaches, lovely people, the tropical flowers… The place you would like to be for the rest of your life, if you like adventure, nature and wildlife. You should go there at least once in a lifetime. You also can see photos from Maui and Oahu on my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/marrylup/
Have a great trip!
I looked at your photos – Mauia looks beautiful, especially at sunset. Thank you! It looks like a tropical paradise <3
Reykjavik, Iceland! I’ve stumbled across so many articles lately on Iceland and I personally would love to go. Take a 10 day driving trip on the Ring Road around the country.
<3 You're right I've been seeing a lot of posts on Iceland too!
Sossusvlei in Namibia! The sand dunes there are ridiculously beautiful and surreal!
Oh my gosh, this looks like a freaking dream! <3 <3 <3
Visit Palawan in the Philippines! Check out coron, el nido or balabac.
I heard it’s always more fun in the Philippines! I really want to go to Asia for my honeymoon this year too. Maybe we will do El Nido!
The amazing Thailand! Food, people, places, beaches and islands!! Awesome!!!
Oh my gosh that is totally on my list. A couple of my friends and I have been talking about going there lately. Maybe we will finally make it happen!
DO it! 🙂
Kauai- the oldest, greenest and most beautiful of the Hawaiian Islands. And the only one full of rivers. With a great local food scene (Kauai honey or local steak, and on and on) and Waimea Canyon, Hawaii’s little Grand Canyon. Home of the ridiculously beautiful Hanalei, disguised as “Hanalee” in the Puff the Magic Dragon Song. And especially the Na Pali trail, the most epic hike in the world. The trail skirts the edge of jungled mountains next to the ocean, dipping into valleys with waterfalls and ends at a waterfall pouring right onto the beach.
Marina, what an amazing suggestion! Actually, this sounds so cool that I’d love to do a post about it and feature the tips you gave. Are you a local or did you travel there?
I’ve lived on the neighbor island of Maui for the last 13 years. My email is 1marinamichelle@gmail.com
I’d be happy to have you share those tips (and others) with a credit to my travel blog, liltraveltoes.com. Let’s talk!
Yes, that’s perfect! I’ll shoot you an email with some questions and send you an example from the series. Thanks!

The Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef, Australia! I recently went on holiday up there and stayed on Hamilton Island at the Beach Club, I can’t recommend the place enough (friendly staff, beautiful views, stunning rooms!). The Whitsundays offer a whole other world of opportunity: the islands boast lush rainforests, hidden over and waterfalls, friendly locals, rich history, untouched beaches, the most beautiful reefs and aquatic life you’ve ever seen, and once you taste a cocktail or mocktail, there will be no going back!
Start in Cairns with a day or two of exploring, set out to the beautiful Fitzroy Island for a day – pack your sand shoes and swimmers! They have coral beaches, 4star resort, an awesome Cafe to grab lunch from, the hike up to the lighthouse is definitely worth the view of the island from the highest point on the island! You will do want your camera! While you’re in cairns, take a walk around the city centre – along the marina and water front and up to the shopping centre. Stop off and a grab an ice-cream from one of the many parlours, take a quick dip in the lagoon, and don’t rush! One day should also be spent in the train and cable cars. Take the train up the mountain and spend your day wandering the quaint village on top the mountain range behind cairn So! Then smuggle some food onto your cable car ride down over the top of the rain forest! Watch for the hidden valleys and rivers you cross, the birds you can seen sitting in the trees below you give an awesome feeling of elation. From there I wouldn’t worry about taking a trip up to the Tablelands as you’ve already done that with the train and cable car! A short trip up to the Daintree is worth the look if you’d like to get a feel for the place. The Daintree river has loads of croc tours where they take you out in a boat and you try to spot all the crocodiles you can!
Head on over to the Whitsundays from there! As I’ve already said, the islands are worth checking out, the reefs are spectacular, and if you can, take the helicopter over to Whitehaven Beach with a picnic lunch and your swimmers. Then all that’s left to do is get back on a plane and head on home!

Dammia, this sounds amazing!! Can I share your tips?? I have a “Tips from Travelers” series where travelers give their advice about a particular location. Would love to do a post on this location and feature you.
Yeah sure! It’s beautiful!
Wonderful! And if you have a website, social media, or anything that you’d like me to link the post to, please let me know. Thanks =)
That is a list of very diverse places. Amazing and beautiful. If it was me, would pick Morocco. 😀
We would happily visit any of these places in the photo’s they all look aweome
All of the places look tempting, but if I were you, I would head to Bolivia.
I’m voting for Mongolia! Just everything about it really!
Ooh that’s different!
I love immersing myself in local culture, so getting to know Fijian people and culture sounds awesome!
I’d suggest 2 locations:
A. Philippines like Palawan, Cebu or Boracay- I’ve been to these places and loved the activities from helmet diving with fishes to nature trips like Underground River adventures and zipline thrills 🙂
B. Saigon in Vietnam – I plan to tour the place in Nov/Dec too 🙂
Happy travelling 😉
I say visit New Zealand. You can visit Roy’s Peak, but also you can participate in many adrenaline-pumping adventure activities so it would be a super-exciting trip!
Yes, your fiance knows you very well 🙂 I would love to go and see Morocco!!
Hong Kong – I’m biased as I live here, but it’s definitely a cool place to visit 🙂
I love this idea of a post. Very creative and interactive as well. Love it.
I’m so jealous. That’s really one of the best gifts ever. And I think the Denmark is ideal in early fall. I know that’s far out and you’re itchin’ to fly, but picture it…
thanks for the information and posts
