After experiencing luxury life in the private estate we were enjoying near Jimbaran Beach, it was time to head further south to experience bungalow life at La Joya Biu Biu. This cliffside bungalow resort had a more beachy vibe, complete with ocean-view infinity pools and a secret beach. Out of all the Bali hotels we stayed in for our honeymoon, this one was more for budgeters and you can even find their bungalows listed on Airbnb.

5 THINGS TO LOVE ABOUT LA JOYA BIU BIU
1. Close to Uluwatu Temple
As most of you know, I love beautiful hotels, but I also like to leave them. I’m an adventurista at heart, so getting out to explore is very important to me. One thing I liked about La Joya Biu Biu was its proximity to Uluwatu Temple. I really wanted to visit this place last time I was in Bali, but didn’t get a chance to. This time, I was in the perfect location to do so.
One thing Uluwatu Temple is famous for is its glorious sunsets. Unfortunately it had been storming, so I didn’t get to experience the sunset I was hoping to see. Regardless, I’m still happy I went. People often have horror stories about the monkeys snatching your possessions over there, but I have no such story to tell. They were actually really cute and didn’t bother us.
2. Beautiful Infinity Pools
The Asia Collective, the company who coordinated this booking for me, sure knows how to find the most Instagrammable hotels. The infinity pools at this place are pure Instagram gold. We woke up early one morning to take a dip and gushed over how the pool looked like it was disappearing into the ocean.
3. Secret Beach
Confession – I never made it to the secret beach. If you checked out my vlog, then you watched as Karl and I got derailed on the way to the beach by some fire ants that started crawling all over my long, flowy dress. If I had been smart and worn some shorts and a tank top, I probably would have avoided that. Trying to be cute got me in trouble.
Although the ants caused us to retreat, I used my drone to fly down to the secret beach to capture some shots of what it looked like. It seemed very remote—a nice contrast from other crowded beaches you might run into while visiting Bali.
4. Outdoor Massage
Staying at a Cliffside bungalow resort meant we could enjoy our massage with a view. Every massage I’d ever gotten in Bali had always been indoors. I was thrilled to finally experience one surrounded by Mother Nature. I had low-key been dying to get a massage while listening to the sounds of the ocean in the distance, and I finally got my chance staying at La Joya.
5. Ocean Views Everywhere
Everywhere we walked the ocean was in our line of sight. Whether we were getting massages, taking a dip in the infinity pool, or eating at their on-site café, we always had front row seats to the vast Indian Ocean. Bungalow life may not be the fanciest, but with those views, I didn’t feel like I needed much else to be happy.
My gosh this place is a dream!!! i want to go there right now!!!! The pics of the pool is amazing… so lucky to had this experience!!!

These photos are so beautiful!! I would happily trade in my tent for a bungalow like that!!
Looks like you guys had a great honeymoon! This place seems to afford privacy and appears laid back but luxurious. The infinity pool looks so awesome.
This place looks like a true paradise for honeymooners, non-touristy and exotic! As we both sisters got married this year this place would definitely go into our list to travel with our respective better half’s!! 🙂
Wow! That was a beautiful video. Too bad that you couldn’t get to the secret beach. What I loved the most was how much solitude the place seemed to offer. I’ll keep that place in my when I go to Bali!
Love the shot you used for your pin! La Joya sounds totally amazing. Especially the infinity pool and outdoor massages. Adding this to my list for whenever I make it to Bali.
I’ve always wanted to go in an infinity pool!
What an beautiful place to just enjoy the simple things of life. That outdoor massage looks divine and the secret beach lovely (even if you had the ants incident). That infinity pool is simply divine, I would just sit there and do nothing besides admiring the view, let the time pass slowly.
